Plot:
The film features Captain Vijayakanth in the role of a bank officer named Mahendran who is transferred to the branch of Village Nilakottai to sort out the perplexing situation of bank fraud carried on by a big shot Marthandan (Debutant Ramki). Over there, he happens to find out that Marthandan has borrowed loan of worth Rs.25Crores in the name of villagers.

Mahendran -his colleagues (Sriman and Ilavarasu) approach Marthandan to return back the money that he had illegally borrowed. When refused, he assures of arresting Marthandan and the very next day, Mahendran and his colleagues are pushed down in shock for the entire bank is burnt down and they are dismissed. Review:
Bharathiraaja's latest offering 'Era Nilam' is focused on patriotism. His son Manoj has a good role in this. He acquits himself reasonably well, though failed in a few emotional scenes. The movie is completely taken in a village background. It is a typical Bharathiraaja movie with humanistic values and filled with emotions.

Coming to story, Chinnathayi (Suhasini) is a war widow living in a village with her two daughters-in-law, younger son Doraiswamy (Manoj), an old lady and grandchildren. Doraiswamy is a tough farmer who is proud of his two brothers who are in the army and their family. Swarnam (Nandita) is a village belle who falls in love with Doraiswamy. It is celebration time when the two brothers come home for leave, but the happiness is short lived as they are called back for the Kargil War. The two young women lose their husbands in the war and Chinnathayi is devastated. The responsibility of the entire family falls on Doraiswamy and the rest of the story is his about his fight against the anti-socials in the village including his brother-in law (Venkat) till he joins the army to serve the country.

Nandita was good to look at but her dubbed voice did not fit her. Venkat as the villain was impressive. Vadivelu's comedy was not at all impressive. Suhasini was over expressive. Music by Sirpi was the only saving grace of the film. Thenmozhi’s dialogues and Dhanapal’s camera deserve special mention.

Plot:
It centres around Vennila's connections with the three men in her life. Satish (Ajith) who wins a college competition and becomes the object of the arrogant Vennila's ire. In a fit of pique, Vennila feigns love to him, gets him to marry her, and then ditches him on the wedding night. The whole affair leaving the innocent soft-hearted youth in a state of shock, and later hospitalised and in deep coma. Santosh, the new entrant to college, who chooses Vennila for his games of one-upmanship, leaving her puzzled as to his motive. And Amar, her fiance from abroad, who she later realises is a psychopath. An interesting scenario which had the potential to turn into a good, suspense thriller. The film is good in parts, but has the odds heavily stacked against it.

The script goes for a nose-dive after Vennila finds she is pregnant, and is shocked, since she's not had physical relationship with any of the guys. And then she realises that it was the past catching up with her, and it was a planned vendetta by Satish's dear ones. The director could have made the plan more convincing. The 'Test-tube-baby' style of vendetta cuts no ice here. It's too far-fetched, a bit ridiculous, and leaves it open to questions on a doctor's ethics.

Review:
Enga Veettu Pillai, with MGR in a dual role, distinguishes between the characters by making one a coward and the other a brave man. It has fun by putting the brave man in the coward's place and making him teach a lesson to the people around him. It is an enjoyable entertainer and was one of MGR's biggest hits.

Ramu(MGR) is the cowardly one - the heir to all riches of Poonjolai jamin. He has been raised that way by his uncle Narendran(Nambiar). Ramu shivers at the very mention of his uncle's name and a whiplash is Narendran's favorite form of punishment. Narendran wants to get Ramu married to Leela(Saroja Devi) but she is turned off by his cowardice. Ilango(MGR) is a jobless young man, prone to pick a fight and for this reason, the cause of trouble for his mother. Circumstances lead to Ramu and Ilango taking each others' place. Ilango teaches a lesson to Narendran while Ramu learns the ways of the world. The position of Ramu(in Ilango's place) is only marginally interesting as the listless romance with Rathna is the only major thing happening. Thankfully, the actions of Ilango are concentrated upon as he is wooed by Saroja Devi and hated by Nambiar and co. The revelation of the switch is handled neatly and the emotions of the heroines are not carried on for too long. But the subsequent story that digs into the pasts of the two look-alikes is confusing and extends the movie unnecessarily.

Story:
Vijay is the managing director of a large shipping corporation. He goes to Switzerland to stipulate a contract with 'Nizhalgal' Ravi and Raghuvaran. There he meets Rambha, Ravi's sister. The two fall in love. Ravi approves of Vijay but when he expresses the condition that Vijay should stay with them after the marriage because India is not good, he refuses his offer and returns home. But later Raghuvaran and Rambha travel to India to mend fences. Raghuvaran learns that Banupriya had been dumped by Ravi for a better life and Vijay is just waiting for an opportunity to kill the man who distroyed his sister's life. He devises ways of preventing Ravi from attending the marriage but later he tells Banupriya the truth. Vijay overhears this, but finally all problems are solved and the two lovers can get married.

Synopsis:
Dharma Lingam (M. R. Radha) is a rich man who has a daughter named Sarasu (Saroja Devi) and two sons. The elder son marries a girl named Kamala who conceives a male child. After the elder sons death Dharma Lingam refuses to accept his daughter in law and grandson. Kamala seeks the assistance of Nathan (MGR) who is a police officer, to file a suit against Dharma Lingam. Nathan, on his way to Dharma Lingam's house meets Sarasu. Both of them fall in love with each other. Later Nathan finds that Kamal has been murdered and tries to track the culprit. Meanwhile Nathan's sister Uma comes with Kamala's child in search of Nathan. Dharma Lingam hides her, thinking that she is Kamala. Nathan finds Kamala's body in Dharma Lingam's garden and accuses him of being the murderer. The police arrest Dharma Lingam. What happens later forms the rest of the story.

The director should be credited for chosen a complex issue- plaguing the country today- and portraying it in a simple way that even a common man understands. His sharp screenplay and simple narration makes it simple.
