Plot:
Chakravarthy( Rajnikanth), a great businessman and the Chairman for his group of companies, is extremely attached to his family, consisting of his son Santosh (Rajnikanth again), his daughter and wife Meenakshi (Lakshmi). But he leads a very flamboyant and colorful life. Interestingly his son Santosh, is just the reverse of his father. One day Santosh chances upon an injection vial, and is shocked to learn that it is used by his father. On probing further he learns the truth about his father. The ideal son he is, he takes it upon himself to correct his father. Tired of this interference, Chakravarthy leaves for Hongkong. Here he meets Radha (Sarita), his employee, and breaches her chastity. On coming back, he is stunned to see Radha, as his daughter-in-law, and in the family way. He is at his wits end trying to unravel the truth. Are Santosh and Radha really married? How do they know each other? What will be the fate of Menaka, Santosh’s sweetheart? Where do all these happenings leave Chakravarthy's wife Meenakshi?

Kuselan follows the story of Balu, played by Pasupathy, who is more often than not addressed cynically as Barber Balu by his village men. He is down in the dumps because his business is going downhill and is in an attempt to revive it from slumping by applying for a bank loan. His short term goal, however, is to buy a new wooden chair and get rid of his dilapidating old one.In the mean time, there is hullabaloo in the village owing to a shooting unit that has camped in the neighborhood. Balu gets to know that his childhood friend Ashok Kumar is part of the cast. When the news about Balu’s friendship with Ashok Kumar is let out by his wife Sridevi, played by Meena, the reluctant Balu is burdened with requests from many sections of the village. They want to use Balu’s friendship as a ticket to get near Ashok Kumar for reasons ranging from meeting him in close proximity to inviting him for the village school’s silver jubilee anniversary.The rest of the story how Balu & Ashok joins is the climax of the story.

Plot:
Archana (Sridevi) plays the role of popular singer, Archana and Johnny (Rajinikanth) is her ardent fan. Johnny is a con-man who does petty-thefts (basically as per the Tamil film rule does his theft only on the greedy ones) to close the loan taken by his father. Jhonny never misses the concerts of Archana and this is noticed by Archana too. A tender love develops between the two, but Jhonny is guarded in accepting the love of Archana due to his no-so-clean background. But one day Johnny accepts the love of Archana when she proposes to him. This is one of the lovely sequence of the film and Sridevi and Rajini has acted tremendously. Sridevi all of just 17 years old when this movie was made essayed this role to the perfection, coming in Saree only throughout the film.
Meanwhile, another Rajini, a barber lives a lonely life with his assortment of pet animals. He falls for Deepa another loner and they both marry. The barber Rajini sees his wife's infidelity and kills her. Knowing about his look alike Johnny and knowing that he is wanted by the police, he tries to pass on the murder charge also to him. Both of them are chased by police, Jhonny hides in a forest, barber Rajini tries to pass of as Johnny by taking refuge in Archanas house. Archana gets hurt by the curt behavior of barber Rajini (in the guise of Johnny) and she is confused on the same.
Finally, the barber Rajini realises his folly and unites the lovers by getting caught in the police, taking responsibility of Jhonny's crimes included.

Plot:
Senthilnathan (Prabhu) and his wife Ganga (Jothika) buy a property which is supposed to be haunted. The palace belonged to the King Vettaiyan who had kidnapped a dancer Chandramukhi to satiate his desires. On coming to know of her love for a fellow dancer, he killed the dancer in front of Chandramukhi's eyes and then burnt her alive. When Ganga comes to know about the story of Chandramukhi, she starts behaving like her. Many strange happenings take place in the house. Senthilnathan’s uncle (Nasser), his daughter Priya (Malavika), and his elder sister Akilalandeshwari (Sheela), along with Murugesh ( Vadivelu) who is Senthil’s cousin, come to stay in the Palace. Saravanan (Rajinikanth) a psychiatrist comes to the rescue of Senthilnathan. He first identifies Durga (Nayantara), the granddaughter of the gardener (Vijayakumar), behind all the strange happenings in the house. Slowly the mental condition of Ganga starts getting worse; now Saravanan combines medical science with witchcraft to bring Ganga out of her mental state as Chandramukhi.

The DSP requests Raju to impersonates Billa so that the DSP can take down the rest of Billa's gang, Raju requests that the DSP promises him that he will give a proper education to the children that he is looking after. But in an unexpected turn of events the DSP dies. The DSP is the only one who knows the truth about our impersonator who now finds himself in a life-threatening situation - hunted by both the cops and the real Billa's henchmen and to make matters worse, he then finds out that Interpol Officer is a crook and has taken the place of the real person. He is the one responsible for the DSP's murder. It's now a race to retrieve a the DSP's diary in which the DSP has documented his substitution of the real Billa.

Plot:
Manikkam is an auto driver with a great past. The movie starts with Manikkam giving money to two auto drivers to help them pay dowry and for an operation, as the movie rolls his sister who gets 98% in her exam cannot get into a private medical college because she cannot pay the fees. He then goes and talks to the admission person and requests to speak alone he says something that is not audible to the audience and the admission person suddenly gets scared and then says he will give a 100 seats if he wants it.
Based on unexpected twists to the story, like the one above, the movie shows that Manikkam was actually once a Don named Manik Baasha in Bombay (now Mumbai). The storyline in this part of the movie, shows how the character of Manikkam becomes the Don, Manik Baashha, but later makes the city and its media believe that the he was killed by his rival don, Antony (played by Raghuvaran).
Keeping his real identity secret, he left Bombay to start a new life as an auto rikshaw driver. But in his new life, he meets and falls in love with Priya (Nagma), and marries her. But unfortunately, his old life has followed him when Priya's father, a former member of Mark Antony's gang, recognises Manik Baashha.
The climax of the movie involves Manikkam saving his family from the vile character Antony.
