Thirumalai is a Tamil film which released on Oct 24, 2003 and was directed by Ramana. This film has Vijay in the main lead. Jyothika plays his love and Kiran Rathod plays a guest role. But this film was a success and ran for 125 days. Vijay's string of fast paced entertainers started with this one and was followed by Ghilli, Madhurey, Thirupaachi, Sivakasi and Aathi. It was remade in Telugu as Gowri.
