Review:

A deadly slapstick comic stream seems to be flowing down by the teaming up of the trio K.S.RaviKumar-Kamal Hassan-'Crazy' Mohan. They proved it once more after their success in "Avvai Shanmugi" and "Thenali" in this gleaming starrer "Pancha Thandhiram".

Kamal (Ram) and Simran (Mythili) are hubby and wife who ends up in a wordy duel because of the latter's suspicious nature. The split between the two make way for Ram's friends Jayaram, Yugi Sedhu, Arvind and Sriman an edge to feast their friend with some fun. They sets up an affair with Ramya (Maggie). Ram is not fully into it, but he was forced to when he found Maggie breathless in his room. This spices up some tensions that leads the foursome along with Ram to dispose the body to get away with the trouble. But that only intensifies the mess. Further confusions, how the friends deal with them to prove their innocence, and the climax leading to a happy ending forms the rest of the story.

Crazy Mohan steals the scenes most of the time with his rib-tickling comedies, one-liners, and sensible timings. He has always done well for Kamal's movies which shows his commitment towards him in some way. Though some of them are repeated ones from his previous movies, one can just forget the stressed out schedules and laugh, laugh and laugh.

Ram's friends trying to hook him up with a call girl slightly reminds the story line of recently released "Charlie Chaplin", only difference being Livingston's role in that movie is replaced by four friends. The huge number of stars also doesn't do any good to the movie excepting for the headcounts. The characterization of Ishwarya, Sanghavi, Vidhya does not provide adequate support to the sequel. The talents of Urvashi has not been utilised to the fullest extent. Manivannan, Ramesh Khanna, 'Kovai' Sarala too merely exist without creating any impact. Canadian scenics provide some Ray-Ban efect to the eyes for this summer.

Simran invites some sympathies and Ramya is stunning, still got lot many years left to perform in Kollywood!!.. Delhi Ganesh, not given an opportunity is something unusual in a Kamal's Movie. He is really missed. As of Music, Deva has done some consoling job with his few good numbers. The one especially sung by Kamal "Kadhal Piriyamal" has got a fine melody and lyrics as well which tries to explain the real time scenario, the Genius Actor is going through.
