Plot:
The movie 'Sondham’ captures the lifelong struggle Vairam (K.R. Vijaya), undergoes, to get rid of the adamant attitude of her husband, Manickam (Muthuraman), an illiterate youth. Vairam, a graduate, is forced to marry Manickam, after he abducts her in a rage of anger. But on their wedding night, misunderstandings crop up between the two as Maickam feels that Vairam is belittling his illiteracy, and vows never to live with her. To spite her father he marries Vairam’s dearest friend Thangam. Thangam, however, dies in child birth, and Vairam brings up the girl child. The daughter Muthu, becomes a doctor, but even she is unable to make Manickam and Vairam, live as husband wife. Will age mellow down Manickam, or is Vairam destined to continue to live her pathetic life?
