Synopsis:

Azhagai Irukkirai Bayamai Irukkirathu’ (AIBI) is a simple love story. Cinematographer turned director Vijay Milton has adopted a simple formula for the film with loads of unexpected twists and turns. It has a happy start and a sad ending. It will satisfy film buffs who look for romance and entertainment, but serious film viewers will find it cheap.

Manu (Bharath) is a guy from small town Ooty. He falls in love with a girl name Jyothilakshmi’s (Mallika) at first sight. Now, he comes to Chennai to win her. But the truth is that Jo is crazy after an aspiring cricket player and business tycoon Prem (Arun Kumar) though Manu is mad of her.

Manu tries to break up Jo and Prem’s relationship in the first half of the film. He succeeds it too. The second half takes a totally different turn and gives ample room for sentiment. Manu tries to unite Prem and Jo after realizing Jo’s deep love for him. The film also ends with a unique note. Unlike other love story films, hero of the film is in the receiving end while heroine’s love succeeds.

Audio and picturization of song sequences play important roles in love story films. But unfortunately, the album of this film by Yuvan Shankar Raja has nothing special. He has sung the songs too but it’s not successful. This is indeed a big letdown to the film.

Bharath is looking good and he has done his role really well. Mallika Kapoor has the talent to climb up the ladders. She looks cute in the film. Arun Kumar has a good role and he has lived up to the expectations. M.S.Baskar’s comedy track is one of the highlights of the film, but other comedians including Renuka have tried too hard to create fun.

The film is a bit too slow. Some clever editing would make it more racy. Whatever maybe, the film will surely make the urban audience happy.
