This refreshing tale from K. Balachander avoids the usual film ideas (separated siblings, two heroes fighting for the same girl, etc) and focuses on the fairly realistic tale of a famous singer Manoj (Rahman with singing by SP Bala) and his extremely jealous wife (Geetha). Tricked into marriage by his conniving mother-in-law, what really irks Manoj is his wife’s inability to deal with his rabid (female) fans. Tensions escalate until Manoj flees from home and ends up encountering someone else (Sithara) who’s also escaping from her life.
