Suyamvaram (1999) is a Tamil film directed by a host of directors. The film stars many top stars from Tamil Cinema The film's score and soundtrack are composed by five top music directors. The film was described as a magnum opus by Kollywood legends Sivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan at the pooja ceremony. The film holds the Guinness World Record for the most top actors in a film and also the award for the quickest ever full feature length film made. It took 23 hours to make from shooting to editing to release and was a landmark film in Tamil Cinema. The film made a massive 51 crores and was deemed a hit.

Plot:
Gopikrishna(Murali) and Azhagu(Vadivelu) have in their possession a badly rundown bus that they hope to fix and convert into a mobile canteen. The movie is for the most part, a series of their adventures and escapades. These include their encounters with a persistent policeman Veerappan(Vinu Chakravarthy), Azhagu's obsession with a mouse that chewed up his passport and has made the bus its home, their meetings with a bank manager Mahendran(Manivannan) who is willing to finance their venture and their attempts to drive Basanthi(Radha), a woman from Gujarat, away from their bus. But Basanthi has her own secrets and her past leads to problems in her romance with Gopikrishna.

Synopsis:

'sumathi en sundari' (1971/Ramkumar Films) was directed by C.V.Rajendran and starred Sivaji Ganesan, Jayalalitha, Thangavelu, Nagesh,Chachu, V. Goplalakrishnan, 'Thengai' Srinivasan, Maali and 'Venniraaadai' Moorthy. Based on a Bengali story by Prashanta Deb, the movie had Gopu drafting the screenplay and dialogues. Interspersed with hilariousmoments, the movie was a breezy narration of a film star called Sumathi who is poised at the pinnacle of glory. Fame and fortune are hers, but so is an aching emptiness and loneliness. She longs to lead the simplelife of a normal woman, but society does not permit her these simple pleasures. While traveling to an outdoor shoot, she gets down from thetrain in a smallhillside station to get into another compartment, but the train speeds away before she could clamber in. She seeks refuge inthe house of a surly young estate manager who is a misogynist to boot. Thankfully, he has never watched her movies, has never traveled far fromhis beloved tea gardens, and is unaware of the celebrity status of hissudden guest. Sumathi introduces herself as Sundari, and persuades himto put her up for the night. How she gradually enters his heart andkeeps evading the reach of the film crew form rest of the reels. Sivaji as the ill-tempered estate overseer undergoing a change of heart andJayalalitha as Sumathipretending to be Sundari played their roles withcharacteristic panache. The movie had a successful run of over 100 days in most centers.

Plot:

The movie begins with a retired professor Elango (Raghuvaran) coming back to his native village along with his daughter Charulatha (Mamta). He summons Sathyamoorthy(Vishal), a student from Chennai, to join him in his research on folk songs.

Sathyamoorthy's pleasing manners attracts Charulatha. Meanwhile, poll fever grips Tamil Nadu as general elections are announced. But, candidates are murdered one after another and a fear sets in among them. Many of them prefer to withdraw nominations. Citing lack of security to candidates, the State Election Commission prefers to postpone the elections. Meanwhile, the police manage to obtain clues in the series of murders and arrest Elango. In a flashback, it is revealed why Elango with the help of Sathyamoorthy goes out to murder the aspiring MLAs.

Sathyamoorthy along with his friends had studied in a college in Chennai where Elango was the professor. They come out with a pre-poll election survey which results in them incurring the wrath of the ruling party in the State. With the help of police, they let loose terror in the college and kill over 50 students.

Sathyamoorthy and Elango, who survive the attack, resolve to teach a lesson to the corrupt politicians.
